Essential Qualification

  • Junior Translator and Interpreter:
    • You must have a University Degree in languages, specifically English and Marathi.
    • Preference will be given if you have a Degree in Law.
    • You must be very good (proficient) in English and Marathi.
    • You must also know at least one of these languages: Hindi or Konkani.
    • You need a Computer Certificate showing you can use a Word Processor in Windows and Linux. This includes MS Office, MS Word, Wordstar7, and Open Office Org.
    • The computer certificate must come from institutes like NIC, DOEACC, APTECH, NIIT, C-DAC, DATAPRO, SSI, BOSTON, CEDIT, MS-CIT, or Universities under Maharashtra Universities Act, Goa/Maharashtra State Board of Technical Education.

Note: Candidates who do not have a degree in English and Marathi languages should not apply.

Selection Process

  1. Screening Test: This is a written test of 100 Marks. The duration is 3 hours.
    • English Grammar: 20 Marks
    • Essay: 30 Marks
    • Letter Writing: 10 Marks
    • Translation (English to Marathi and Hindi/Konkani): 40 Marks
    • Minimum passing marks are 50.
  2. Viva-voce: This is an oral interview of 20 Marks. Only candidates who pass the Screening Test will be called for this.
  3. Document Verification: Checking of original certificates like Date of Birth, Educational Qualifications, Caste Certificate, and Domicile Certificate.
