Essential Qualification

  • Must have a Bachelors degree from a recognized University.
  • Must have a diploma in Stenography in English.
  • Minimum speed 100 wpm in shorthand.
  • Minimum speed 40 wpm on a computer.
  • Must have a valid Assam Employment Exchange registration.
  • Law graduates get preference.

Selection Process

  1. Stage 1: Stenography Test (90 Marks)
    • Voice testing before dictation (2 minutes).
    • Speed test 100 wpm (700 words 7 minutes).
    • Computer test time (3 minutes).
    • Transcription time (20 minutes).
    • Minimum 50% marks (45/90) needed to qualify for Stage 2.
    • Top candidates (1:10 ratio) proceed to Stage 2.
  2. Stage 2: Written Exam (100 Marks 2 Hours)
    • English Proficiency (80 marks: Composition Essay Grammar).
    • Assamese language knowledge (20 marks).
    • Minimum 40% in English (32/80) needed.
    • Minimum 40% in Assamese (8/20) needed.
    • Marks are qualifying only not for final list.
  3. Stage 3: Viva voce/Interview (30 Marks)
    • Candidates called in 1:3 ratio based on Stage 1 marks (if qualified Stage 2).
    • Minimum 60% marks (18/30) needed to qualify.
  4. Final Selection: Based on total marks in Stage 1 (Stenography Test) and Stage 3 (Interview) only.

  4. Login with Registration Code and Date of Birth.
  5. Click "Update Candidate Details" fill profile save.
  6. Click "Submit Candidature". Ensure all info is correct before submitting.
  7. Pay fee at any SBI branch after 2 working days using the challan. Get bank seal and Journal Number.
  8. Print "Acknowledgement Receipt" and "Application Form" after fee payment confirmation.
