Age Eligibility
Candidates must be 35 years old or younger as of 01/01/2025. The upper age limit for candidates already in government service (including ad-hoc/contract) is 42 years. There is a five-year relaxation in the upper age limit for bonafide SC/ST/OBC of H.P. Age relaxation for H.P. Govt. employees and Ex-Servicemen of H.P. is as per government instructions.

Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination / Screening Test: 100 multiple choice questions (1 mark each), 2 hours duration. Negative marking (0.33) for wrong answers.
- Main (Written) Examination: Three compulsory papers (General Knowledge, General English, Hindi) and two optional papers (200 marks each). Candidates need 40% in each compulsory paper and 45% aggregate.
- Physical Standard Test: Candidates qualifying written exam (5 times the vacancies) will be called. Male: Height 163cm, Chest 79-84cm, Walk 25km in 4hrs. Female: Height 150cm, Chest 74-79cm, Walk 16km in 4hrs. Relaxations for certain categories.
- Interview / Personality Test: Candidates qualifying written and physical test (3 times the vacancies) will be called. 100 marks.
