Essential Qualification
- Level-I (PRT):
- Sr. Sec. (50%) + 2-yr Dip. El.Ed. OR (45% + 2-yr Dip. El.Ed. per NCTE 2002).
- OR Sr. Sec. (50%) + 4-yr B.El.Ed. / 2-yr Dip. Ed (Special).
- OR Graduation + 2-yr Dip. El.Ed.
- Level-II (TGT):
- Relevant Bachelor's (50%) + Teaching Degree/Diploma (B.Ed./D.El.Ed./B.El.Ed./Integrated).
- Social Studies: BA + 2 from Hist, Pol Sc, Eco, Geo, Socio, Psy (50% each).
- Science: BSc + 3 from Phy, Chem, Bot, Zoo, Maths.
- Phy. Ed.: Graduate + B.P.Ed. or D.P.Ed.
- Level-III (PGT):
- PG Degree in subject (50%) + B.Ed. (Good academic record needed).
- Comp. Sc.: M.Sc. CS/MCA/B.E./B.Tech. CS/IT (55% aggregate).
- Phy. Ed.: M.A. Phy.Ed./M.P.Ed. (50%) + B.P.Ed./D.P.Ed.
- Note: Specific Hindi/Sanskrit subject requirement applies for teacher appointment.
Selection Process
- The HTET exam consists of one paper for each level.
- All questions are Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs), each carrying one mark.
- There is no negative marking.
- The duration of the examination for each paper is Two-and-a-half hours (150 minutes).
- Total MCQs for each paper are 150.
- Qualifying Marks: 60% (90 Marks) for all categories except SC and Differently Abled of Haryana Domicile, for whom it is 55% (82 Marks). SC/Differently Abled of Other States need 60%.
