Selection Process

Step Description
Shortlisting Based on academic scores as specified in Appendix II (Table 3A for Universities and Table 3B for Colleges of the document).
For Assistant Professor positions, minimum scores apply:
  • Up to 10 candidates (per category) for the first vacancy and 5 candidates for each additional vacancy are shortlisted.
  • Candidates need a minimum score of 70.
Interview Only shortlisted candidates are called for an interview. The selection is based solely on the interview performance.

Professor Minimum 10 years teaching as Assistant Professor/Associate Professor/Professor, OR research experience at an equivalent level with a minimum of 10 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 120. Evidence of successfully guiding doctoral candidates is required.
Associate Professor Minimum 8 years of teaching and/or research (equivalent to Assistant Professor) with a minimum of 7 research publications in peer-reviewed/UGC-listed journals and a total research score of 75. -
Assistant Professor While not explicitly stated as a minimum requirement, prior teaching/research experience would be beneficial. Candidates must have cleared NET/SLET/SET or be awarded a Ph.D. following specific UGC regulations (see the document for detailed conditions and exemptions).
