For the posts of Postman and Mail Guard, the candidate's age should be within fifty years as on 01/01/2025. For the Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) post, there is no upper age limit for Gramin Dak Sevaks. Age relaxation is applicable as per government rules.
Essential Qualification
- Postman and Mail Guard
- Education:
- Must have passed 10th Grade from a recognized board.
- Experience:
- Must have five years of regular service as a Gramin Dak Sevak.
- Other Skills:
- Knowledge of computers and the local language (Odia) is required.
- License (Postman Only):
- A valid license to drive a two-wheeler or light motor vehicle is needed.
- Multi-Tasking Staff (MTS)
- Education:
- There is no minimum educational qualification for GDS candidates.
- Experience:
- Must have three years of regular service as a Gramin Dak Sevak.
Selection Process
- The selection process is based on a Competitive Examination.
- For MTS, selection is based on marks in Paper-I only.
- For Postman/Mail Guard, selection is based on combined marks in Paper-I and Paper-II.
- Candidates for Postman/Mail Guard must also qualify in Paper-III (Language Test) and Paper-IV (Skill Test).

- Attach a recent passport-sized photograph.
