Selection Process

  1. Preliminary Exam: Objective screening (GS & Aptitude, 300 marks). Minimum scores required; marks don't count for final rank.
  2. Main Exam: Shortlisted candidates (1:10 ratio) take descriptive exams. Includes qualifying Tamil Paper I (100 marks) and three GS Papers (II-IV, 250 marks each) totaling 750 marks for ranking.
  3. Physical Test: Mandatory Height/Chest check and Endurance Walk before the Interview.
  4. Interview: Candidates shortlisted from Main (1:2 or 1:3 ratio) attend a 100-mark interview assessing suitability.
  5. Final Selection: Based on combined Main (Papers II-IV) and Interview scores, following relevant rules.
