Age Eligibility
The age eligibility for the post of Associate Professor is between 18 to 45 years as on 01/07/2025. For the posts of Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor (Pre-Law), the age limit is between 18 to 40 years as on 01/07/2025. Stage 1 | Compulsory Tamil Language Eligibility Test (Qualifying Test) It will be an objective type test with 30 questions for 50 marks. Duration: 30 minutes. Minimum qualifying marks: 40% (20 Marks). |
Stage 2 | Written Examination (Main Subject) Single paper with Multiple Choice Questions (MCQs). For Associate Professor and Assistant Professor subjects it will be set in English only. For Assistant Professor (Pre-Law) subjects (Sociology, Political Science, and Economics) it will be set in Bi-Lingual (English and Tamil). Exam Duration: 3 hours. Total Marks: 175. The minimum qualifying marks vary based on category: For BC, BCM, MBC/DNC, SC, SCA & ST it is 35% for Associate Professor & 30% for Assistant Professor & Assistant Professor (Pre-Law). For General Category it is 45% for Associate Professor & 40% for Assistant Professor & Assistant Professor (Pre-Law). |
Stage 3 | Evaluation and Award of Research score by the Committee (only for Associate Professor) |
Stage 4 | Verification of Original Documents followed by Interview. Based on results, qualified candidates will be called for document verification followed by an interview. Candidates called for interview will be twice the number of vacancies. If vacancies are less than five, three times the number of vacancies will be called. Interview marks: 25. |

- For Assistant Professor and Assistant Professor (Pre-Law), candidates should restrict their applications to only 2 posts. Either 2 Law subjects or 2 Pre-Law subjects or 1 Law and 1 Pre-Law.
- Submit a separate application for each post with separate fees.
- Upload evidence for claims made in the application at the time of online application.
- Fill in all particulars in the online application carefully. No modifications are allowed after the last date.
- Incomplete or defective applications will be summarily rejected.
