Essential Qualification
- For most subjects:
- Master's Degree
- With 55% marks in a relevant subject.
- NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D.
- Must have cleared the national or state eligibility test or have a Ph.D.
- For Drawing & Painting, Music Gayan, Music Vadan-Sitar and Music Vadan-Tabla:
- A. Master’s Degree with 55% marks and NET/SLET/SET or Ph.D. OR
- B. A traditional or professional artist with a Bachelor's degree and commendable professional achievement.
A relaxation of 5% is allowed at the Master's level for candidates from SC, ST, OBC, and Differently-abled categories.
Selection Process
- Preliminary Examination: This is an objective-type test with 120 questions for 150 marks, lasting 2 hours. There is a negative marking of 0.33 marks for wrong answers.
- Main (Written) Examination: This is a traditional written exam with 20 questions for 200 marks, lasting 3 hours.
- Interview: The interview carries 25 marks.
- Final Selection: The final merit list will be based on the total marks from the Main Examination and the Interview.
