Selection Process

Written Examination: First there is a written test of 50 marks. Questions will be on general knowledge about Dumka district and local languages. You need at least 30 percent marks to pass. The test is 90 minutes long with 50 multiple choice questions. There is no negative marking for wrong answers.
Physical Measurement: Candidates who pass the written test must meet minimum height requirements. General EWS BC is 160 cm. SC ST is 155 cm. Women are 148 cm.
Physical Test (Race): Eligible candidates will run a 1 mile race.
- Men: Finish in 5 minutes or less for 20 marks. Finish between 5 to 6 minutes for 10 marks. More than 6 minutes means disqualification.
- Women: Finish in 8 minutes or less for 20 marks. Finish between 8 to 10 minutes for 10 marks. More than 10 minutes means disqualification.
Work Experience Weightage: Unpaid chowkidars working previously get 2 marks for each full year of work up to a maximum of 20 marks. Proof is needed.
Merit List: Final list is based on total marks from Written Test Physical Test Race and Work Experience (if applicable).
