The upper age limit is 28 years as on 01/10/2025 for General and EWS category candidates. Age relaxation is given to certain categories: 3 years for OBC (NCL), 5 years for SC, and 10 years for PwBD. Ex-Servicemen get age relaxation as per Government rules.

Essential Qualification
- Engineering Assistant Trainee (EAT):
- 3 years Diploma in Engineering (Electronics/Mechanical/Electrical/Civil).
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% for SC/PwBD).
- No work experience is required.
- Technician C:
- 10th Grade (SSLC) + ITI + 1 year Apprenticeship or 10th Grade (SSLC) + 3 years National Apprenticeship Certificate.
- The trade must be Electronic Mechanic or Fitter.
- Minimum 60% aggregate marks (50% for SC/PwBD).
- No work experience is required.
Important Note: Registration in any Tamil Nadu Employment Exchange is mandatory and must be valid and active as on 04/11/2025.
Selection Process
- Computer Based Test (CBT): Applicants who are eligible will be shortlisted for a CBT in Chennai.
- The test is for 150 marks and has two parts:
- Part I: General Aptitude (50 marks) which covers mental ability, logical reasoning, basic math, data skills, and general knowledge.
- Part II: Technical Aptitude (100 marks) which has questions from the specific engineering discipline or trade.
- Minimum Qualifying Marks in each part:
Category Part I Part II General/OBC/EWS 35% 35% SC/PwBD 30% 30% - Tie-Breaking Rule: If two candidates have the same score, the one with higher marks in the Technical section will be preferred. If the tie continues, marks in the General Awareness section, then qualification percentage, and finally, older date of birth will be considered.
- Document Verification: Candidates shortlisted from the CBT will be called for document verification.
- Medical Exam: Final selection is subject to passing a pre-employment Medical Examination. Candidates with color blindness will be unfit.
